Erwin van Krey, born 1959 in Tilburg (NL), lives and works in Vught (NL)
Studied at the Royal Academy of Art and Design, ‘s-Hertogenbosch, graduated in 1983.
Erwin van Krey is inspired by an eclectic mix of sources based on ‘found footage’ such as photos from magazines and folders, that feed his artistic imagination. His work often reflects the complexity of the human experience, historical events and the impact of mass media. Van Krey draws from various disciplines such as film, photography, and art history to add a layered depth to his works.
The artist has been invited to many exhibitions. His work is in private collections in Europe and overseas.
